Come In to Cool Off
At Northgate Lakes, summer has officially begun, and it is hot, hot, hot! Of course, it’s great that you can get to the beach in about an hour or head in to the city for a change of scenery, but sometimes you just want to chill out at home! At Northgate Lakes, we’ve got some great activities lined up this summer, so come on inside, and take a break from the heat!
May 23 – Squirt Cupcakes
Did you know that May 23 is World Turtle Day? This day was originally meant to increase respect and knowledge of these incredible endangered animals. So we figure, what better way to celebrate than with a cupcake? Come by the clubhouse and decorate your own turtle cupcake! Feel free to wear green, and if you see a turtle in the road, help him get to where he’s going safely!
May 28 – Festival of Games
On May 28, bring your friends to the Festival of Games! Come relax in our clubhouse and show your skills for a day of fun events. We’ll have all kinds of fun games going on, from board games to old-school Super Smash Bros. Are you up for the challenge?
June 16 – DIY Sharpie Mugs
Feeling creative? Come by on June 16 to design your own Sharpie mug. Whether you’re a Pinterest addict and have been itching to make your own mug or a coffee fiend who is always looking for a witty morning pick-me-up, this is the activity for you.
Get Out of Town
If you’re looking for a venue change, head in to Orlando — Theme Park Capital of the World! There are a range of options, from LEGOLAND to Aquatica Orlando, which brings together an aquarium, zoo, water park, and amusement park for one out-of-this-world experience. We hear that Universal Studios’ new Harry Potter attraction is not to be missed.
Of course, there are always some interesting events going on at the University of Central Florida. UCF has courses ranging from learning to scuba dive to interviewing techniques.
