Founded in 1963, UCF is the largest of the universities in Orlando, FL. In fact, it is the second largest university in the nation. With over 61,000 students, the University of Central Florida offers a wide array of classes and degrees in state-of-the-art facilities. UCF is a leader in many fields including optics, modeling and simulation, engineering and computer science, business administration, education, and the sciences including biomedical sciences, hospitality management and digital media. With so many options at such a large university, UCF students can find exactly what they’re looking for.

What started out as 700 students gathered under a cluster of citrus trees in the late Sixties has grown into an institution of higher learning serving 30,000 students annually and the Seminole State College system is one of the largest employers in Seminole County, FL. The Oviedo Campus, within three miles of Northgate Lakes, is one of the most popular campuses in the system, owing to its proximity to UCF (for students planning to transfer) and a vibrant commercial district. Opened in 2001, the campus is equipped with technologically modern classrooms and labs, and is proud of its award-winning faculty and strong academic programs, set in 180 acres that features the beautiful landscape of Central Florida.
The Valencia College system, the third-largest school in the Florida College System, began offering four-year bachelor’s degrees in the Sciences in 2009 and over 80 percent of its students are degree seekers. The school also awards over 34 Associate’s degrees in the Sciences and boasts 71 Certificate programs for career advancement or for preparation to enter a number of specialized careers. Its close kinship with the University of Central Florida through the DirectConnect program means that graduates of Valencia can look forward to an accelerated transfer rate to UCF programs. The current enrollment of the East campus, just minutes from Northgate Lakes, approaches 15,000 annually.
